Those who caused the BP oil crisis are its greatest critics!

Democrats Return BP’s Campaign Donations So the Money Can Be Put Toward Environmental Cleanup Source
Commentary

How hypocritical? Will they also return the donations made to them by the left wing environmentalists, whose lobbying over the years led to a moratorium on building oil refineries and nuclear energy plants? I doubt it. It is their combined fault that oil companies, mostly foreign, are drilling off shore.

Democrats supported by environmental groups continually vote against domestic oil, gas, and coal production.

Republicans also are guilty:
House Republicans who received campaign donations from environmental groups helped make up the narrow margin of votes needed to send the Waxman-Markey “cap and trade” bill over to the U.S. Senate.

The legislation passed by a vote of just 219 to 212 on Friday with critical assistance from eight Republicans. They are: Mary Bono Mack (Calif.), Mike Castle (Del.), Mark Kirk (Ill.), Leonard Lance (N.J.), Frank LoBiondo (N.J.), John McHugh (N.Y.), Dave Reichert (Wash.), Chris Smith (N.J.). This support proved critical with 44 Democrats voting against the regulatory scheme.

Political Action Committees (PACs) connected with the League of Conservation Voters, the Sierra Club, Ocean Champions and Republicans for Environmental Protection have made donations to most of these same eight Republican lawmakers in recent election cycles, according to OpenSecrets.Org.

Those who are the loudest in condemning BP, are those who are the cause of this ecological disaster. They should hang their heads in shame. But they won’t! Because they think arrogantly think they are right and everyone else is wrong.

During this year’s primaries and in November, we have a chance to throw out those who have caused all of our current economic, social, and environmental disasters.

Cap & Trade more than devastating on our economy–it is about total control.

The Obama Administration, with the help of far-left Democrats in congress, is establishing control over our industries one by one. First the banking industry. Second the automobile industry, and now over the energy industries. Soon the coming nanny state, if not stopped, will control every aspect of our lives.

The Cap and Trade Energy and Climate Control bill that passed the House of Representatives is designed to control the industries that provide the core of all manufacturing extending to our homes that are heated and cooled by energy. The estimated cost to the ultimate consumer is all over the map, but it will be much higher than the government say it will be.

Taxes are proposed on soft drinks, increased taxes on liquor, tobacco, and a long list of items commonly purchased at the drug and grocery store. Increases in license fees are being considered, i.e., marriage, business, drivers, etc. Most of these taxes potentially discussed by the Democrats will hurt the poor and middle class much more than the wealthy.

Additionally Universal Health Care will increase taxes, costs, and will include rationing. Citizens of England, Canada, and other countries with universal health care come to the US to get treatment refused them in their native countries. Documented cases of some of the elderly in Canada and England have died from either refused or delayed treatment. Do we want the same here?

Finally, it may result in curtailing the rights of all of us under the First and Second Amendments.

All of this is making the congressional election of November 2, 2010, with at least 36 of the 100 seats in the United States Senate being contested. Elections will also be held for all 435 seats, representing the 50 U.S. states. Elections also will be held for the delegates from the District of Columbia and four of the five U.S. territories (info from Wikipedia).

In future posts, I will try to find and post a list of conservative pro-life candidates that will be running in the 2010 off-year election.
